Pursuing the nefarious motorist an unspecified distance, Drew Barrymore was able to nab the would-be law dodger’s license plate before turning it over to Hollywood Sheriff’s deputies.

Barrymore was uninjured

Los Angeles County sheriff sergeant Kristin Aloma was quoted as saying the following of hit-and-run suspects, “could be dangerous,” before pointing out the necessity of obtaining a license plate number in such circumstances.

As of yet, no arrests have been made in the case, though it may be worth asking Lindsay Lohan where she was on the morning of May 12th.

The adorable tyke from such films as Firestarter had grown into a sexy woman who posed nude for a best-selling issue back in 1995. Now, at 32 years old, she’s teaming up with Playboy again. But don’t expect more views of Drew’s boobs. This time she’s the photographer.

Last weekend, the star of Charlie’s Angels borrowed a camera at a Playboy Golf lingerie party and snapped a few photos of Hef’s Bunnies. Meanwhile, guys like comedian Andy Milonakis were hoping for a hole in one. A guest said, “One Bunny was bent over, balancing teacups on her butt that Andy Milonakis had placed there, and Drew said, “I have to get this shot.”’

Drew Barrymore has been shining in front of the camera since she was a kid in E.T., through 1999’s Never Been Kissed, and continued to the upcoming He’s Just Not That Into You, which led to lots of mushy kisses with her boyfriend Justin Long. But Playboy pictures may be Barrymore’s first step toward proving her skills behind the lens. Silly snapshots may be a warm-up for a bigger project.

Namely, her first feature film, entitled Whip It! Drew Barrymore will team up with Juno star Ellen Page for the Mandate Pictures movie, budgeted at $10 million.

In the flick, Ellen Page stars as a cynical teen from a small Texas town who’s expected to do nothing but beauty pageants, until she finds her niche on a female roller derby team. Page is pumped for the project, declaring “I can’t wait to kick ass on wheels!”

Regarding her rookie director, she said, “I really admire how Drew constantly challenges herself as an artist. She’s proven herself as an actress and a producer, and I have no doubt she’ll bring great vision and creativity to the director’s chair.”

And hey, if it doesn’t work out, there’s probably a centerfold or two she can shoot.
